We listened to books on tape on road trips. Mostly non-fiction stories that all three kids could follow. When they came out, we fell in love with the Harry Potter books on tape read by Jim Dale. As I got older, my mom and I got hooked on Sue Grafton's books on tape. My mom always loved reading and listening to stories. -Laura Mergl |
I've proudly stated I was "1 of 9 kids" for so many years, and it was nice to remember all the ways being 1 of 9 has truly blessed me. I'm so glad these 2 worlds collided and the McCorgls were formed. We will always miss our fearless leader, but I'm so grateful for all the warriors who are living her legacy. Lisa and I were blessed to truly be soul mates, often referring to each other as "the love of my life". In 2012 we celebrated our 9th anniversary. For many reasons, this was a big milestone for us and we were both still so in love. While rummaging through cards we kept, I ran across our Anniversary Cards to each other that year. We were so blessed to have found each other. -Craig McCroskey
Lisa was part of a young couples' Bible Study that was initiated at First United Methodist Church of Evanston in the 1990s. We would meet once a week in each other's homes for a potluck meal, a short study, and prayer regarding our joys and concerns. One of our special traditions was an annual girls' shopping trip, usually the weekend before Thanksgiving. Lisa always loved pretty, well-made things, and she got us all hooked on the home items at the Michigan City Dansk outlet. Summer outings to Ravinia and an annual Christmas party were also treasured features of this group. The shopping days are over, but our Christmas party tradition will continue. We will enjoy our tasty potluck foods and fellowship and a lot of laughter, with some tears, I know, as we miss our beloved friend and sister in Christ. I cherish all the hours I spent with our dear Lisa. -- Julie Higginbotham
Lisa was part of the St Pauls Sarah's Sisters Tea at the Peninsula this past December. She came dressed in festive red and was full of funny stories. -Lynn Dykstra
